Review:
"Daydream" Midnight Records rating: 5,5 / 6
(Herr Stalhammar/Vae Solis webmagazine)
I had really hard time figuring out what "Daydream" should be reckoned
to, in terms of conventional stylistic definitions. In fact, I failed.
Heavy metal? Prog? Hard rock? Well, most likely a brilliant mixture
of all of the aforementioned, seasoned with doubtless originality. Don't
ask me why, but "Daydream" made me recall Yngwie Malmsteen's efforts,
"Marching Out", "Trilogy" and "Odyssey" in particular. Strangely enough,
URIAH HEEP and QUEENSRYCHE also come to mind. This CD features everything
this kind of music should necessarily possess: exciting arrangements,
talented singer (no-no-no! Let's better say "EXTREMELY talented singer,
and therefore, pure brilliance when it comes to vocal department"),
astounding musicianship and what's most important, all of ten tracks
"Daydream" comes with, get stuck in your mind even if you gave any of
'em just one and only listen. And above all, sincerity. Not a common
thing in case with bands like BAD AMBITIONS. Seems like I fell in love
with this CD. Yes, ME! The man who never got high on this sort of music.
Well, one never knows if a path he's walking on appears to be inscrutable
or not.
